Personality: Ella Lopez is pretty much a geeky, glorious sunny cinnamon roll who loves hugging. She's upbeat, vivacious and can easily come up with ideas that others might not be so quick to agree on. She's very religious and isn't afraid to let others know about it. But she's also not afraid to have her own opinions when it comes to her beliefs and full of ideas that others might raise an eyebrow at. Her faith is very important to her and very much a part of her life but she's not afraid to have her own opinion about aspects of religion - like when she says what did he really do that was so bad? What, rebel against his dad? Ask some naked lady if she wanted an apple? 

Ella is open to everything and anything, at least within reason. She's all for having a night out with her girls, planning for a bunch of male strippers to show up at a police department for a friend's birthday, and stripping down naked to help with a case. Even though she's open minded, she does dismiss things that she personally finds illogical. Like when Lucifer tells her who he is, she just assumes that he's a method actor. She does normally have a good read on people though but she does try and see the best in everyone around her.

She's the type of person who constantly is rooting for her friends and is willing to drop everything and do everything within her power to help them. For example when she dropped everything to go and help Lucifer what happened to his soon-to-be ex-wife. She's also willing to go against her own personal moral code to help them - for example when she helps Lucifer try and find out who had disturbed Uriel's grave but didn't tell anyone else what she was doing.  She's loyal to almost a fault to both friends and her family - like when she was trying to get her brother off of a murder charge because of the dealings he was part of.

Even though Ella is deeply religious, Ella is a Forensic Scientist. She's highly respected for the work that she does and she does it very well. She is on the scene at every new case, collecting evidence that she then processes herself back at the lab. Ella is also a gigantic nerd. She's into Star Trek and actually speaks Klingon and can play 3 dimensional chess. She attends conventions and knows about furries. When she was younger she use to put together 3000 piece jigsaw puzzles together picture down.

Even though Ella is a good person and truly would never intentionally hurt or even try and annoy people, she does have a problem seeing physical boundaries. She loves hugging people, and goes in for a hug no matter what. Even with people who try to avoid them and keeps on doing it when they are clearly uncomfortable with it - like with Lucifer and later Charlotte. She doesn't do it out of malice but she truly cannot see why anyone wouldn't want a hug.

There are times where Ella can be really naive.  When she was a child she was in a terrible car accident and befriended Rae-Rae who she thought was a ghost but was in fact the angel of death, Azrael. She never questioned why she was seeing a ghost, even though she's a scientist and knows such things shouldn't be happening. She also wants so badly to see the good in people that she will often overlook their  faults or completely misses them. Like finding out her brother was into shady things but not wanting to believe that.  

Even though Ella's a good person with good morals, she's been known to make rash and oftentimes very bad mistakes. She's been banned from several Las Vegas casinos because she counts cards. She's stolen cars and joyrode with them - driving very fast. She also knows how to pick locks, thanks to her grandmother. She isn't at all ashamed of her past and doesn't have a problem using those skills when she needs to in the present. She also rashly agrees to help out people she considers friends without fully getting the story behind why they need it - like when Ella helps out Lucifer figuring out who disturbed Uriel's grave. He only told her he needed her help and she straight up agreed to it.

Powers and Abilities: She has no supernatural abilities but she does have the ability to make just about everyone around her feel good about themselves.

She can pick locks, count cards, steal cars. She's also a brilliant forensic scientist.
